Physical activity is essential for health. Children need to exercise regularly just like adults do. We know it’s easier said than done because kids are likely to do only what they enjoy. So, it’s time to get creative. Here are some fun ideas to put the excitement back into physical activity for your children at home.
1. Introduce healthy competition
Create challenges for them to participate in every week. Perhaps you can give a prize to the child who managed to jump rope the longest during one of your sessions or give a prize to the child who outran the others during that week. Visit the Multiply online shop to see the fun educational toys we have in stock, you can even award the winner a pair of these great Volkano headsets for just R179.
2. Do something fun together
- Play dodge ball together
- Enjoy some hula hooping
- Take a swim together as a family
- Play hopscotch
- Jump on the trampoline
3. Lead by example
Everyone can benefit from exercise. Set aside time to exercise as often as you can. If you’re following a fitness video online, let them join the session with you. If you’re walking, walk with them. Don’t forget that we reward you for being physically active. If you walk 10 000 steps in a day or burn 300 calories in one session, you’ll earn Active Dayz™. 1 active day earns you one point. The more points you earn, the higher your status and the greater your rewards.
